How to cook a turkey – Preschoolers instructions 2008

Our nursery school has two classes, ages 3-5.  Each year, our teachers ask and prompt them to describe how to cook a turkey.  It is a delightful gift to the parents … and I’m sure a later embarassment to the students.  Here are this year’s answers. (Names have been removed.)

Three Year Olds

Put some grapes and some bones inside the turkey. With some chicken and mashed potatoes on top. Cook it on the stove at really hot for 2 minutes.

Put some cheese, chocolate and green beans inside the turkey. With some chicken fries and ketchup on top. Mommy will put it in the oven at a little and a little warm and cook it short.

Put some chicken inside the turkey with some cheese on top. Nana will cook it at her house in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Put some sat and some strawberries inside the turkey with a waffle and sprinkles on top. I want dad to cook it because mom always burns her hands. Dad will put it in the oven at cold for 1 time.

Put some pizza inside of the turkey with my backpack on top. Mommy will cook it outside on the grill until it’s done.

Put some scrambled eggs and salt inside the turkey, with some pepper and popcorn on top. I’ll cook it in the pan for 3 days at (finger wide) hot.

Put corn and some pasta inside the turkey with some chocolate ice cream and whipped cream on top. I’ll cook the turkey on the stove at cool it down and hot. It will take one minute.

Put some chocolate and water inside the turkey. With some cheese and orange juice on top. Daddy will cook it on the stove at very hot for 2 hours.

Put some corn and beans inside the turkey with some more new corn on top. Mommy will cook it in the house on the stove at not very hot for 4 minutes.

Put some chicken and some roast beef inside the turkey, with some strawberry sauce on top. Mommy will cook it in the oven at very hot for 30 minutes.

Put some chicken nuggets and some turkey inside the turkey with some carrots on top. I’ll cook the turkey in the grill at just a little bit hot for a long time.

Put some butter and some bacon inside the turkey, with some pumpkin pie and some apples on top. Dad will cook the turkey on the grill at a lot of hot for 3 minutes.

Put some chocolate chip cookies and some eggs inside the turkey with some cheese and some more cheese on top. Mommy will cook it on top of the grill at (arms over you head) hot for (arms wide) long.

Four Year Olds

Put some green grapes, butter rice, lettuce and cucumbers inside the turkey, with some turkey, macaroni and cheese and black olives on top. John Michael will cook the turkey on the grill at 40 degrees for 1 hour.

Put some chicken and turkey inside the turkey, with rainbow sprinkles on top. The teachers will cook the turkey, in the kitchen in the oven at warm for 9 hours.

Put some cheese, turkey and chicken inside the turkey, with some more chicken, salt, pepper and mashed pumpkins on top. Adriana will cook the turkey in the school kitchen at real hot for 8 minutes.

Put some cheese, pepperoni and pineapples inside the turkey, with strawberries and icing on top. The teachers will cook the turkey in the kitchen, in the oven at a little bit hot for 1 minute.

Put some strawberries, cranberries and chocolate donuts inside the turkey. Pour some milk and salt and pepper on top. Mommy will cook the turkey with me the helper. And Daddy will put it on the grill at so hot for 0 hours.

Put some eggs and strawberries inside the turkey with some blueberries and grapes on top. Papa will cook the turkey at his house on the grill at 4 degrees for 3 hours, and the next morning we’re going to Colorado.

Put some chicken and a little bit of meat and a little bit of corn on the inside of the turkey. Then put some turkey on top with a little bit more turkey. Mom and dad will cook the turkey in the oven at 14 degrees for 49 minutes.

Put some corn, some chicken and some pumpkin inside the turkey, with some sparkles on top. I love sparkles. Mom and dad will cook the turkey in the turkey thing, outside on the grill. Cook at very hot for 1 minute.

Put some apples and some macaroni inside the turkey and Mimmie’s mashed potatoes and corn on top. Mimmie will cook the turkey in the oven at 5 degrees for 2 minutes.

Put some broccoli, some chicken and some carrots and pickles inside the turkey. With some tomatoes, some apples and lettuce and a little bit of basil and eggplant (that’s called melanzana, in Italian) on top of the turkey. A chef will cook it in the kitchen. He will cook it in the oven at 7 degrees for 15 minutes and then he will put it on a plate and bring it here.

Put some pumpkin pie and grapes inside the turkey, with some corn, apples and a banana on top. Mom will cook the turkey on the grill on hot, for a long time.

Put some cinnamon, gummies and fruit snacks inside the turkey, with some peanut butter and grape jelly on top. Mommy will cook it on the stove at 35 degrees for 30 minutes.

Sarah-  Put some salt, some corn, tomatoes and strawberries inside the turkey, with some clams and melted butter and jelly on top. Mommy will cook the turkey on the stove at 3rd degrees for 5 minutes.

I love fruit so I would like some blueberries and strawberries inside the turkey, with some salt and butter on top. I think my dad will cook the turkey on the stove at really hot for just a little bit.

Put a piece of turkey and a sandwich inside the turkey, with another piece of turkey on top. Also spread some corn on top. Dad will cook it in the oven at a cool temperature. When it’s ready it’s a little bit hot so we blow on it, say our prayers and eat.

Put some chicken and some pork inside the turkey, with some milk and water on top. I think, mom will cook it in the oven at 20 degrees. It won’t take long, and it will be done on Thanksgiving.

Put some ice cream and chocolate inside the turkey, with some sprinkles on top. That will make it taste really cool and yummy. I’ll cook it with mommy and daddy’s help. We don’t want the ice cream to melt, so we’ll cook it at warm for 5 minutes.
